TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) aims at establishing a company wide recognition of information security assessments for the automotive industry, based on a common verification and exchange mechanism.
Consequently, a wide number of German car manufacturers and suppliers of automotive components expect from their business partners to be accordingly certified. The basis for this certification is a catalogue created by the members of the German Automobile Association (Verband der Automobilindustrie e. V. in short: VDA) which was derived from the international industrial norm ISO/IEC 27001 and reflects the specific requirements of the automotive sector.
SII selected TÜV Nord as external auditor, who in turn transmits their assessments to the ENX Association. In the context of TISAX, ENX acts as governance organization, providing the necessary accreditation to auditing firms and monitoring the quality of the audit and the assessment results. In this way, it ensured the results are objectively validated and the rights and obligations of SII are observed.
„As participant of TISAX we pave the way towards a continued growth of our automotive business”, says Dr. Andreas Lautenbacher, Business Unit Manager und Key Account Manager Automotive. On this basis, we will be able expand on our ability to deliver increasingly complex projects in our own premises.”
The automotive sector represents the second largest business field of SII in Germany. Our competences range from manufacturing technology, through mechanical and electronic system development, to design, styling and modelling activities for the most renowned manufacturers and parts producers of the European car industry.
„With this step we express our commitment that information security is in fact part of our corporate culture”, adds Alexander Pick, CISO of SII in Germany and TISAX project coordinator.
The assessment result is exclusively retrievable over the ENX Portal.
